Best Homemade Facial Moisturizer

For as long as I can remember I have struggled with finding facial care products that work well, aren’t expensive, and that won’t break my skin out. Store bought moisturizers were either ineffective, overly greasy, too watery ~ just didn’t work. Now that I am in my mid-thirties, fine lines and yes, even wrinkles, are now a concern and I didn’t want to use harsh chemicals or go broke in my attempts to have the best skin possible.
Well, after some research I combined a few all natural ingredients that are easily found in your community and shazam!! I believe I have stumbled upon one of the most effective, unharmful, least expensive face moisturizers of all time! Within a day I saw amazing results and within a month I had almost completely new skin on my face. I have a rosy complexion for I do believe the very first time in my life. The pores on the skin on my face are visibly much smaller than they had been prior to my using this all natural and effective face moisturizer, the fine lines have mostly disappeared and the wrinkles have turned into fine lines! Amazing! I can make about a three to four months supply for under $10. I can’t wait to hear back from you guys on how it works for you, too!
Homemade Rose Facial Moisturizer
3 Parts Rose Water
1 Part Glycerin
1000mg Niacin (pure drops or powder)
(1) 2 oz. glass vial with dropper
Glycerin: Glycerin is both a humectant (attracts moisture to the skin) and a hygroscopic (takes water from the air). Glycerin has long been known for its gentle properties and is often used in products targeting those with sensitive skin as well as infant and children skin products. Obtain glycerin derived from a vegetable base, rather than animal, for the use in cosmetics.
Rose Water: Rose water has been used for a millenia in the care of womens’ skin. It stimulates blood flow to the skin; balances and restores the skin’s Ph; and tightens pores. Rose water also aids greatly in balancing out the sebum levels within the skin which makes it an ideal choice for women of all skin types. If you have unusually sensitive skin, try a little test patch before you wet your entire face with it. As a gentle alternative to harsh acne treatments, the antiseptic qualities of rose water make an excellent choice and is well touted for bringing relief and healing to many forms of dermatitis. Currently, rose water is being researched for its apparent effectiveness in treating strep and staph infections when taken internally; as well as for its calming effects on the nervous system and to bring relief of some PMS symptoms.
Niacin: Niacin is the vitamin B3, also known as nicotonic. Used as a part of a topical treatment, Niacin has helped many people reduce red spots, sallowing and yellowing of skin, and hyper-pigmentation. Additionally, Niacin is even shown to help with the elasticity of the skin and impact the signs of aging.
Now, with Niacin being an ingredient, you will experience some ‘tingling’ and a flushing of the skin for a short time after application but only for the first few days you use the product. For those of you who have taken Niacin internally and had what’s called a niacin rush, this is similar to that. ThisĀ goes away once your skin becomes accustomed to the product, usually in two to three days. If by chance you find it is too strong, you can lower the amount of Niacin you include in your homemade face moisturizer, or eliminate it all together. You will still be left with a wonderful moisturizer, just minus the ‘resurfacing’ properties I have come to love so much from including the Niacin.
